Writing, creating characters and creating a creative business is extremely difficult. If I could go back to school, I wish a professional artist would have spoken to my school to tell me how they create and what obstacles to be ready for.

I speak to students K-High School, adapting my presentation based on the age of students and the type of content and tips that they may be interested in. 

For K-2: I do interactive book readings, keeping the students engaged and responding throughout the presentation. I read 3-5 of my books, play read aloud videos of my books and talk to them about how I decided to be an artist at a very young age. 

For 3-5: A mix of book readings and practical tips for writing stories and creating characters. I also dive in to the difficulties I have faced in my creative business so students are ready for obstacles and inspired to take on challenges to create and develop skills. 

For Middle School: I focus my presentation on graphic novel writing, drawing, and story telling. 

For High School: I share work that I've created for musical artists like Owl City, Hanson, Fancy, Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor. I share stories about how I come up with ideas and give some tips about how to get started in the real world as an artist.

How long are presentations:

25mins-60mins. +10-15 mins for Q+A

What do you need to present?

- A Projector

- Computer (Mac) hook up

- Microphone (optional)

- Clicker or easy reach to computer

Do you present to whole schools?

Yes. Typically schools are broken up into K-2 and 3-5, and are presented to in the same day. But it's possible to present to the whole school if you have the capacity/ room to do so. 

What does it cost?

At this point, I don't charge for presentations. If there is extensive travel, there may be cost associated.
